Integrated Shuffled Singular Value Decomposition and Wavelet Difference Reduction based Image Compression
- Sana S. Desai , M. S. Chavan
    [ Abstract ] [ Cite ] [ PDF ]
    Abstract

The paper presents a new lossy compression technique in which compression is achieved by combining two compression based algorithms. The first method is wavelet difference reduction (WDR) based image compression and the other is shuffled singular value decomposition (SSVD) based image compression. Both the methods are integrated in a way to achieve high compression with better image quality. WDR is a compression technique that involves applying DWT with differential reduction encoding. Shuffled Singular Value Decomposition (SSVD) is enhanced version of singular value decomposition (SVD) that gives high PSNR values for same rank. DWT is applied on the image to be compressed at the encoder side and then WDR based compression is applied on low frequency sub-band. SSVD based compression is applied on high frequency sub-bands parallely. At the decoder side image quality enhancement is carried out. The proposed method is compared with other methods. It is seen that psnr values of proposed method are greater than other methods for same amount of compression..

    Abstract

Robots have been utilized as a vital piece for different applications in the industry as well in the academe. In instance, for personal services, robots are being used in the variety of task. In this study, the researchers focused on a new concept of an Arduino-based Microcontroller wheeled laser cutting robot. The researcher is motivated to develop an alternative solution for manual cutting or engraving that could set out to give artists, illustrators, designers and everyone in between have an easy access to laser cutting so they could make their designs a reality. The developed prototype uses 2.5W Blue-Violet and an Arduino NANO that serves as the brain of the robot which the application involves firing a laser which cuts by melting, burning or vaporizing a material. The developed laser cutting robot have passed technical evaluation and testing for the overall functionality and with regards to the results, it indicates that the laser cutting robot is in a good quality as an instructional tool.

Enhancing Load Balancing in Cloud Computing by ACO
- Bethala Shirisha, Thandu Nagaraju
    [ Abstract ] [ Cite ] [ PDF ]
    Abstract

Cloud computing is one of the growing technology. It provides users “pay as you go” services on demand. Now-a-days the number of users are increasing due to the attractive features it is providing. But it results in a fast growth of load on servers. Hence, load balancing has become important in the field of cloud computing. Load balancing will share the workload equally among all the nodes available in the network .So that no node is neither overloaded or underloaded and each node will do the work with the same amount of time[1]. It reduces the time and cost involved in the main computational models and helps to get better utilization of resources and the system will increase its performance. We are having many algorithms implemented by many researchers to solve the problem of load balancing. In this paper, we present a technique built on Ant Colony optimization to deal with the problem of load balancing in a cloud environment.
