Abstract

Use of Fossil Fuels in Power Generation has its adverse environmental impact. And due to growing population there is a scarcity of Fossil Fuels in today’s world. To cope up with this problem this paper suggests the Design of D. C. Operated Vacuum Cleaner using Axial Flow Fan, which is capable of producing a Suction Pressure of 0.17 Bar. And it is more efficient in Cleaning and has less D. C. Power Consumption. This Vacuum Cleaner is wireless leading to better approach in cleaning the floor. As this Vacuum Cleaner is Eco-Friendly, looking forward to use a cleaner source of energy for the betterment of mankind, planet earth and environment.

Abstract

This paper helps energy management and power quality issues identified with electric transportation and concentrates on enhancing electric vehicle load association with the grid. A transformerless hybrid series active channel is proposed to upgrade the power quality in single-phase systems with critical loads. The control strategy is de-marked to avoid current harmonic mutilations of nonlinear loads to stream into the utility and rectifies the power factor of this later. While shielding delicate loads from voltage disturbances, sags, and swells started by the power sys-tem, ridded of the series transformer, the setup is invaluable for a modern industrial execution. This hybrid topology permitting the harmonic isolation and compensation of voltage distortions could assimilate or infuse the auxiliary power to the grid.

Abstract

Composite materials have been used extensively to build truss structures owing to their remarkable properties. Composite truss structures have attracted tremendous research interests due to their superior strength and performances, and have been utilized in the construction of civil structures. Compared to other structural materials, such as concrete, structural timber composite steel has a considerably higher variability of the strength properties both within and between members. The variability within a timber member is not considered in engineering design, where each member is treated under the assumption that it is homogeneous, i.e. the strength is assumed to have a constant low value along the member. The advantage of the low probability that high stresses coincide with low strengths is however not accounted for and may give an extra safety margin. The reliability of structural systems has to be verified against failure caused by extreme effects, such as fire and seismic effects. To the best of the authors’ knowledge, there is a lack of studies in the literature on comprehensive reliability calculation of complex structural systems; the available studies mainly deal with the reliability calculation of simple, separated elements. This paper compares and provides a study of various levels of research work done in computational structural analysis. The crust of our review focuses on the analysis of truss, complex or simple because truss is the most widely used and fundamental building block of any structure.

Abstract

Abrasion wear is one of the most common failure mechanisms of moving machine elements. Because of their mechanical and tribological ability, engineering polymer composites can be chosen to replace metal parts in certain applications (e.g. bearings). Increasingly newer polymer composites are appearing and data on their tribological behaviors are incomplete, it is not so easy to choose from this wide wide selection of choices (mechanical properties, price, etc.). In the present study two groups of polymer composites In many fields of industry, abrasion and erosion processes are dominant wear mechanisms that reduce lifetime of costly machine parts. Wear resistance against abrasion and/or impact or the ability to withstand other complex mechanical actions are often required. In order to quantify the specific properties of material that are applied in such fields, several test methods are in use. A certain discrepancy can be seen between the systems approach and the aim to get information about suitability of materials for practical applications simply from specific material tests. This paper gives an overview over a selection of relevant test equipment and procedures. In addition, some examples are given for advanced studies on materials behavior combining tribological test, material analyses respectively materialography and mathematical methods in order to support – for selected cases.

Abstract

Industries are grown drastically in now a days without influence of human beings, this is achieved only through automation. In this project we are going to design a press for powder compacting by integrating the linear displacement encoder and servo motor. The main advantage of using servo motor is to save the power consumption up to 30%. LVDT is mainly used to control the position of moving bolster. The total setup is controlled by the ladder logic which is framed by PLC. The PLC program is written through total integrated automation. The PLC used in this project is SIMATIC S71200 PLC, which is manufactured by Siemens company, it is used to control the operation also it will indicate when the fault or overload is occur. The control panel designed and monitoring for 180 ton powder compacting press. The power panel consists of PLC kit, Transformers, SMPS, protection and safety circuit. The panel board wiring reduces the complexity of the system hardware. The servo motor is controlled by the VFD driver circuit. The output terminal from the PLC is connected to valves and motor, alarm etc.

Abstract

In this paper, local maximum edge binary patterns (LMEBP) feature extractor is proposed for medical image segmentation. The local region of image is represented by LMEBP, which are evaluated by taking into consideration the magnitude of local difference between the center pixel and its neighbors. First, image split in to sub blocks and LMEBP features are extracted from each sub block. Once the image has been split into blocks of roughly homogeneous texture, we apply an agglomerative procedure to merge similar adjacent regions until one of the two stopping criteria is satis1ed. At each stage we merge the pair of adjacent regions which have the largest merger importance (MI) value. Based on MI the regions are merged and then form the segmented regions for medical image segmentation application. Experimental results are tested on benchmark MRI database for medical image segmentation application. Results after being investigated, proposed method shows a significant improvement for segmentation of images.

Abstract

Parasitic diseases in human caused by intestinal helminthes are the most prevalent diseases in human in developing countries. Intestinal parasites cause a significant morbidity and mortality in endemic countries. To view the whole gastrointestinal tract, wireless capsule endoscopy (WCE) has been used. This is the first minority works to systematically explore the routine recognition of diseases of worms in human using WCE. To confine the properties of worms, the connected component algorithm is first applied to partition an image into segments and Region props is used to measure the properties of worms from segmented image. Supervised learning technique is deployed to classify the WCE. To classify the worms, K-nearest neighbor technique is then proposed. Experimental results shows the overall performance and the time reduction.

Abstract

The number of chick produced through natural incubation is very low due to irregular environmental parameters like temperature, humidity, etc and the death of hen can lead to the total collapse of this incubation process. A solar powered automated incubator system was designed to operate in place where there are no source of electricity (in very remote areas). The solar energy is used in two forms; to provide solar electric energy and also to provide solar heat energy. The solar reflector was used captured heat energy during the day and to supply this regulated heat at temperature band of 36-37°C to the incubator via a valve controlled by a PIC18f4550 microcontroller, while the solar PV was used to charge the battery and to supply power to the system during the day. At night or poor weather when battery is used to power the system, if the temperature goes below 36°C an electric heater will be used to increase the temperature band to 36-37°C and the heat of the heater will be decrease if temperature is getting greater than 37°C. The turning of the eggs is done twelve times daily and is achieved by the use of stepper motor which drives the egg tray either in clockwise or counter clockwise direction. The advantages of this system are numerous, especially that it uses only solar energy.

Abstract

The main idea of the project is to intimate the driver or the vehicle owner that the vehicle emits excessive CO content from the outlet. Our system does this in a smart manner by sending a notification to the mobile application using IOT .For detection of the CO content we have deployed a CO sensor and the entire system is attached to the vehicle such that the CO sensor evaluates the emissions from the outlet and processes the real time data.
