Innovative Mechanical Winder- Dirk Chadwick Mabasa, Peter John Mabelin, Jude Mavin Hidalgo, John Del Estay, Celil May R. Ylagan
Abstract
This project is a two-way powered mechanical winder using either hand-lever mechanism or a DC motor. The final prototype is capable of winding a single thread in 2-3 minutes using a 9V dc motor with a 6V adaptor, the speed is directly proportional with the dc motor’s voltage so the higher the voltage the faster it winds. It is mostly consist of recycled materials from scrap machine that made the prototype very cost efficient. The prototype can be innovated to become a universal mechanical winder by making the spool detachable to be able to change it with another one either a reel of wires, ropes or tapes. Analysis of Suspended Vibrated Drum, Part Ι : Modelling with Full Plane for Drum Vibration- Dhurgham Ahmed Kadhim, Hussain Abdulaziz Abrahem, Nazhat Saeed Abdulrazaq
Abstract
In this study, vibration characteristics of centrifuge machine with its suspension system were investigated through a developed mathematical model with three degrees of freedom (two displacements in a plane and other plane rotation) for the suspended vibrated drum. Numerically the dynamic model solved by Simulink/Matlab. In order to obtain the vibration characteristics of high speed excitation as well as valid the mathematical model, the system was implemented in real. To compare simulated and experimental results of the displacements and angle of the vibration then microcontroller (Arduino Nano) with motion sensor MPU6050 was used. The experimental data of linear vibration is acceleration, therefore to find experimental displacements; two integrations (trapezoidal approximation) were done with a filter before integration. Automatic Visual Inspection for Silica Caps- Ahmed Osama, Alaa Hamdy, Sameh Salem
Abstract
In this paper, an automatic visual inspection system for checking silica caps is proposed. The proposed system is able to inspect silica cap and detect outer ring and inner cap defects. This variability is managed in an automatic way by means of using reject piston to automatically reject defects. Furthermore, the system is coupled to install the product on a conveyor to achieve inspection process without affecting the production act time. To achieve a robust inspection process, two algorithms are introduced; the first is a segmentation algorithm for extracting outer ring from images, while second is a recognition algorithm for inner cap inspection. Experimental results on different lots of real production show the robustness and reliability of the proposed in inspecting the silica caps. FPGA Implementation of Efficient Advance Encryption Standard (AES) With Key Expansion Technique- Ramesh S
Abstract
The paper presents an efficient reconfigurable hardware implementation of Advance Encryption Standard (AES) algorithm on Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA); using High Level Language (HLL) approach with less hardware resources. The FPGA platform used for AES implementation is Xilinx Atlys Virtex-6. Time-to-market is one of the key factors for any design in FPGA and digital system designing industry. This time can be reduced considerably with HLL approach. The presented algorithm is designed on a HLL tool, namely Xilinx system generator. It is very user friendly despite giving detailed control in designing the required system design. For actual testing and hardware implementation of the algorithm, the HLL-tool generates a bit file that can be directly burnt on the FPGA. To get the implementation of design on hardware, the presented work uses a similar approach to directly map the System Generator described design on FPGA. The presented work emphasizes on optimization for less hardware utilization. The presented design uses approximately just one thousand slices and about half a century of BRAMs. Keyword: AES; System Generator; FPGA; reconfigurable computing; HLL.× Ramesh S"FPGA Implementation of Efficient Advance Encryption Standard (AES) With Key Expansion Technique" Volume 5 - Issue 1 (52-61) January - February 2019, International Journal of Engineering and Techniques (IJET),ISSN:2395-1303 , www.ijetjournal.org × |

Dwelling Time Prediction Uses Back Propagation Algorithm at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport- Bayu Setiawan, Ratna Kusumawardani
Abstract
Indonesia is one of the countries that has become a market for international trade. The large number of domestic needs and the presence of e-commerce are the causes of the increasing growth of goods imports in Indonesia, which has triggered dwelling time in air transport. Dwelling time is the length of time calculated from the time the goods are unloaded from the ship to the goods out of the port. Problems that occur are difficulties in predicting dwelling time in air transport and the lack of application integration that can be used to make dwelling time predictions on Freight Forwarding companies. This study aims to predict the dwelling time of Freight Forwarding companies at the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Cargo Terminal using the Neural Network method with the Backpropagation algorithm. Researchers want to build models and applications and test the accuracy of predictive accuracy. In this study the highest accuracy was in the prediction in the yellow lane of 67% while the lowest accuracy was in the prediction on the red lane 31%. So that it can be said that backpropagation does not have high accuracy in dwelling time predictions. Modelling and Simulation of Water Level Control
in The Tank with The Cascade Control System- Iwan Rohman Setiawan
Abstract
Simulators for measurement and control systems in the process industry have been made at the Research Center for Calibration, Instrumentation and Metrology, Indonesian Institute of Sciences. In this paper, simulate water level control in the tank with a cascade control system using simulink. By first making mathematical modelling for the components and instruments used in the simulator. For water flow rate measurement modelling using orifice plates and differential pressure transmitters, the gain obtained is 50508. The simulation results show that at water level control using a cascade control system, the change in water flow rate of 1 liter/minute to the tank does not affect the water level in the tank, or the water level in the tank remains stable. Abstract
The main function of the piston of an IC engine is to receive the impulse from the expanding gas and to transmit the energy to the crankshaft through the connecting rod. The piston must also disperse a large amount of heat from the combustion chamber to the cylinder walls. In this thesis is to Model & Assemble the Piston, Connecting Rod & Crankshaft for a 4-stroke air- cooled 150cc Engine by theoretical calculations & also to Compare the Structural Analysis & Modal Analysis on two different materials such as (Aluminum Alloy – Cast iron) for Piston,(Aluminum Alloy – Manganese steel)for Connecting Rod (Nickel Chromium steel – High carbon steel)for Crankshaft. Modeling, Assembly of Piston, Connecting rod and Crankshaft is done in Creo/Engineering software Analysis is done in ANSYS.Structural analysis is used to determine displacements & stresses under static. Modal Analysis is used to determine the Vibration characteristics(natural frequencies & mode shapes) of the three components. Thermal analysis is to determine the heat flux and temperature distribution. By comparing the displacement stress results, using Cast Iron for Piston, Manganese Steel for Connecting rod and High Carbon Steel for crankshaft is best combination for assembly.
